If your ex takes the kids on specific days on a regular basis then you can use those kid-free moments to recoup. Enjoy a relaxing bath, catching up on sleep or hanging out with your support group. By taking advantage of your kid-free moments you’ll be less apt to feel lonely because you’ll be filling your cup full of positive, happy moments while the kids are away with their co-parent.

While you will need to pause to sleep and ensure you’re keeping your mental health up to par, staying busy can often keep your mind away from the loneliness that creeps in as a single mom. Fill your day with things to do so that you won’t have much downtime to feel lonely. Things, like cleaning the house, working, playing with the kids or reading your favorite books, can fill the loneliness hole.
