As busy mothers, we have a habit of putting ourselves last. In facts not only is this a habit but it is almost expected of us. If you are ever out without the children the first thing you are asked is where they are. Everyone expects you to be with them at all times and that really can damage your ability to take care of yourself. Take some time for these simple acts of self-care to refresh your life guilt free.
Grab some coffee and explore your local bookstore by yourself. A little time to think and look around without the kids in tow is a great way to find a good book or two and just relax and refresh after a long hard week.
Take some time to get some exercise every day. This could be a yoga class, going for a run, or something as simple and blasting some music and dancing through the house while you clean. Exercise is good for your body and your mental health. It can leave you feeling renewed and ready to go.
Plan a date night. So often we put aside time to get out. If you don’t have a significant other, you can still go on a date!
Your date night can be a solo date, where you spoil yourself and enjoy some quiet away from home.
Or call a girlfriend or several and schedule a girls’ night out. No pressure to do the right things, say the right things, or look a certain way. Girls’ night out is my favorite date night!
This time away, no matter who you enjoy it with, will help you feel renewed and refreshed.
Find a hobby that makes you feel excited. A simple hobby can breathe life back into your every day. Choose something that catches your interest and makes you excited to take a little time for it every single day. It may take some experimenting but when you find the right fit, you will notice how refreshed and renewed you feel.
